Teacher Forgiveness Program

If you are a district teacher still burdened with student loans, AES is excited to inform you about the Teacher Forgiveness Program. Originally introduced by President Obama, the program is designed to help eligible teachers eliminate their student debt in ten years, while remaining in the teaching profession. Participating can cut your principal in half, and after ten years, any balance left can be forgiven. We can help you see if you can qualify for a forgiveness program and prepare all the necessary documents to make sure you are eligible. Please call (855) 231-0032 weekdays from 9am-8pm EST and Saturdays from 9am-1pm EST.

Tools 4 Schools Store

Tools 4 Schools was officially opened on March 11, 2016!  This is the first store of this kind in Hernando County!  Hernando County Public Education Teachers will be able to shop the store once a month to pick up supplies for their classrooms and/or students at no cost!
The Tools 4 Schools Store is fully funded and paid for through grants, community and corporate donations.  We would like to thank Suncoast Credit Union and the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations as they are our main store sponsors!  Suncoast Credit Union donated $25,000 which was matched by the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations for a total of $50,000!  We would also like to thank Target for their donation of $4,000 that was also matched through the Consortium of Florida Education Foundation to a total of $8,000!  We want to thank all of our sponsors and donors that made this project possible!
We will be having a Supply Drive in June to help us replinish the shelves for our teachers.  If you would like to donate supplies (teacher and student), make a financial donation or if your company or corporation would like to support this effort please contact Tammy Brinker at 352-797-7313 or brinker_t@hcsb.k12.fl.us.
We will be posting the days and times the store will be open by the end of the week!  Keep watching for updates!

Store lets Hernando County teachers get supplies for free

A store just for teachers just opened in Hernando County.

It's full of classroom supplies and more, but what makes it special is that everything in it is free.

The new Tools 4 Schools store is on the campus of Springstead High School. The county's teachers can stop by once a month and grab supplies for their classrooms.

High school teacher Chris Auricchio says he can't believe a place like this exists.

"We had heard about it at the beginning of the year, but I didn't expect it to be like this," he said.

Tammy Brinker with the Hernando County Education Foundation, which set everything up, says teachers can easily spend $500 to $600 a year of their own money on supplies. But the store aims to change that.

"It is completely funded through donations and sponsors throughout our county," Brinker said.

The Hernando County Education Foundation is always looking for donations so they can keep the free store open.

Feeding Children Everywhere Partners with Hernando County Education Foundation!

Fox Chapel Middle School students, staff and volunteers along with Feeding Children Everywhere put together A Hunger Project and packed 51,264 meals for families in need!  Missy Wyzykowski, Fox Chapel Middle School's Parental Engagement Liaison  and Melanie Googe, Fox Chapel's guidance counselor  coordinated and planned for four months to make this project a huge success for Hernando County families. The Hunger Project meals all went to  the Hernando County Education Foundation for distribution within the county.  What a great impact we are making in our community!
Founded in 1988, the Hernando County Education Foundation is a 501c3 Non-profit organization that provides Direct Support to our county’s public schools by seeking out financial support to meet the unfunded needs of public education in Hernando County.
