SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF ITALY IN AMERICA 2019 SCHOLARSHIP

It is the goal of the Una Famaglia Lodge of the Order Sons of Italy in America is to promote, enhance and encourage the studies of Italian heritage and culture. This scholarship program is designed to benefit worthy students of Italian descent that display academic excellence, leadership qualities and a financial need. Rover Scholarship

Founded on the belief that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the unconditional love of a dog, Rover improves and simplifies life for pet parents and the dogs they love. Just write a 400-500 word essay and win $2500!
How to Enter:

Comedy Defensive Driving Scholarship

At Comedy Defensive Driving, they believe that quality education is too expensive for many students and should be obtainable for everyone. So, if you are up for trying something meaningful to help achieve your goal of a quality college education, continue reading.
 
Requirements:
  • Open to students planning on or currently attending an accredited college, university or continuing education program.
  • No GPA Requirement, financial requirement, or any other kind of requirement – Just knowing you are making the effort to get out of bed and do something positive before noon qualifies.
  • Take the pledge to not use your phone while driving, and definitely not to drive while you’re buzzed.. And definitely don’t use your phone if driving (see footnote 2).

Amethyst Recovery Center Scholarship

Amethyst Recovery Center understands the importance of education in the lives of young people. When young people are able to pursue a higher education and make their dreams a reality, they are less likely to fall victim to addiction. Amethyst is proud to offer a $500 scholarship to students attending an accredited college or university.

Winner Announced: June 15, 2019
Keeping the importance of strong communication skills in mind, applicants for this scholarship program should submit their 1,000-word essay on the subject of How Do Drugs and Alcohol Affect Families in America.
 
Requirements to Apply:
  • The applicant must be attending an accredited college or university or have been accepted into one.
  • The applicant must hold a 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • The applicant must have earned their high school diploma or GED.
  • Students of all classes of higher education may apply, including those who are working towards their Master’s Degree.
Application Process:
  • The applicant will need to submit a 1,000-word essay to scholarship@amethystrecovery.org. The essay format should be in .doc or .pdf.
  • The essay should be creative and heartfelt, but should not contain any vulgar or profane language.
  • The essay should display the writer’s proficiency in the use of the English language, with superior grammar skills, and a full understanding of the essay topic.
  • Once the essay has been submitted, it becomes the property of Amethyst Recovery Center and will not be returned to the writer.
Selection Process:
  • All entries must be received by midnight ET on May 31, 2019.
  • The winner of the essay contest will be announced on June 15, 2019.
  • The essay winner will need to provide proof of acceptance or attendance at an accredited college or university.
  • The winner will be notified by email and will have fourteen days to respond. If the winner does not respond within that allotted time, a new essay winner will be chosen.

The ProjectorLamps.com $1,000.00 Scholarship is available to a student enrolled as a Business major who may one day be an entrepreneur and start their own business.  This is an annual scholarship that will be offered every year.

The Recovery Village Health Care Scholarship

The Recovery Village is dedicated to maintaining exceptional service while providing unique opportunities for education and personal development. As part of this commitment, The Recovery Village is offering a scholarship to students pursuing a medical-related course of study. To enter to win ths scholarship, simply submit a short essay (no more than 500 words) describing why you are passionate about substance use disorder and mental health treatment. Essays can be in the form of a personal narrative with a medical perspective or focus specifically on clinical experience.
In order to be eligible, students must meet the following criteria:
-U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident.
-Enrolled or accepted in an accredited college or university and plan to continue enrollment.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Scholarship

The VFW is dedicated to promoting patriotism and investing in our future generation. If you are a democracy-loving high school student interested in a $30,000 college scholarship or a patriotic middle school student interested in winning $5,000, these scholarships may be for you. The national first-place winner receives a $30,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school. A complete list of other national scholarships range from $1,000-$16,000, and the first-place winner from each VFW Department (state) wins a minimum scholarship of $1,000 and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. 
 
HOW TO ENTER:
Download the Voice of Democracy entry form and brochure to submit your essay to your local VFW Post. Students should record their reading of the draft to an audio CD or flash drive. The recording can be no shorter than three minutes and no longer than five minutes (plus or minus five seconds). 
Entries begin at the Post level. Once the student creates their essay and completes burning the audio version to an audio CD/flash drive, they can submit their typed version, CD/flash drive and the Voice of Democracy entry form to their local participating VFW Post by the Oct. 31 deadline. 
 
JUDGING CRITERIA:
Originality is worth 30 points: Treatment of the theme should show imagination and human interest.  Content is worth 35 points: Clearly express your ideas in an organized manner. Fully develop your theme and use transitions to move smoothly from one idea to the other. Delivery is worth 35 points: Speak in a clear and credible manner.

Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship

PCA awards scholarships of $1,000-$2,000 (depending on location) to high school athletes based on their responses to questions pertaining to how they meet the standard defined in Elevating Your Game: Becoming a Triple-Impact Competitor by PCA Founder Jim Thompson. 
 
Eligibility extends to any high school junior residing anywhere in the U.S. and playing for a high school team or in club sports! Even though the 2018 application deadline has been met, The 2019 scholarship application will re-open on January 1, 2019 and end May 31, 2019 for juniors graduating in 2020.
 
Eligibility
  • Any high school Junior (class of 2020) residing in the United States
  • Plays a high school or club sport
  • Maintains a GPA of 2.5 or higher
Criteria
A Triple-Impact Competitor® makes positive contributions on three levels:

Denver Recovery Center Scholarship

At Denver Recovery Center, they’re passionate about helping individuals find their voices so they can begin anew with a bright future. The DRC believes that high school and college students play a strong role in creating and maintaining a healthier future. Through your knowledge, they can reduce substance abuse and addiction across the board. If you have a similar vision for the future as they do, they want to hear from you!
Please, write an essay telling them about how you’re fighting or planning on fighting addiction and substance abuse. Your contribution could be anything from majoring in psychology to helping a loved one get the treatment he or she needs. 
 
Requirements:

Student Volunteer Opportunities

The Hernando County Education Foundation has volunteer hours available throughout the school year for students, parents, teachers and community members looking for opportunities to gain experiences in education and/or fulfill community service hours.  No matter how you volunteer, the rewards are many and exceed the good feeling you will get from helping our students and schools.   Disney College Program

The Disney College Program is a 4-6 month internship program located at the Walt Disney World® Resort near Orlando, FL and the Disneyland® Resort in Anaheim, CA. This program has three key components - Living, Learning, and Earning:
  • EARNING: Participants work in front-line roles in our Theme Parks and Resorts, gaining real world experience and exposure to the operations of a Fortune 500 company.
  • LEARNING: Participants take part in college-level coursework and may have the opportunity to earn college credit.
  • LIVING: Participants live in company-sponsored housing with people from all over the country, as well as the world. For more information about the Program and Housing Fees please Click Here.

Florida State University Service Scholar Program

The Service Scholar Program is a four-year, comprehensive, co-curricular program. Service Scholars will complete a minimum of 75 service hours per semester (45 hours for first-semester first-year students), participate in individual and group service projects, attend regular meetings, engage in coursework tailored to each year in the program, and promote community participation among their peers. The program includes an annual $2,400 scholarship, which is automatically renewed each year, provided requirements are met.

Florida JCI Foundation Scholarship

The Florida JCI awards two $500 scholarships to graduating seniors.  An additional $1000 scholarship is awarded for students in financial need.
 
Students must be U.S. Citizens and plan to continue their education at an accredited post-secondary college, university, or vocational school.
 
These scholarships are based on academic performance.
