Student Scholarships

Gerald Johnson Baseball Scholarship

***2 Students will be awarded annually at $1,000/each (during 2 consecutive semesters and the students must remain academically eligible to recieve the second semester donation). Financial award may be used for tuition and fees and/or books.
Scholarship Criteria:
*Must be a Hernando High School Student
*GPA of 3.2 unweighted on a 4.0 scale
*Complete an essay on "How Has Baseball Influenced Your Life" -  Minimum 500 words
*Any Area(s) of Study
*Must be accepted into college/university by the Awards Ceremony
*Any college or university where the student has signed a "Letter of Intent" to play    baseball at the college/university they have been accepted to.
*Must be enrolled full-time (12 or more credit hours)
*25 hours of community service
*3 letters of recommendation - 1 faculty or administrator, 1 non-family member, 1 baseball coach
*Two years on the Varsity Baseball Team

Hidden Pearls Scholarship

The Hidden Pearls Scholarship is open to all students who are currently enrolled in any college, university, or high school. Two scholarships will be awarded for $1,000. Deadline for first submission is March 31, 2018.

ECIG Scholarship Program

This scholarship is available to any student currently pursing their education in any institute. They will be rewarding one scholarship of $1,000. Deadline to apply for this scholarship is April 30, 2018 and the winner will be announced on May 25, 2018.

This application is intended for students planning a career as a technician in a business that provides residential service for plumbing, HVAC or electrical. This includes HVAC technicians, plumbers and electrician. Deadline to apply for this $1,000 scholarship is December 31, 2017 at 11:59 EST time zone.

Bright Futures Scholarship

There have been changes to the Florida law regarding community service for Bright Futures.  For more information, view and visit the website. Love and Dignity Scholarship Program

This scholarship is for students currentyl pursuing their education in any institute.  This $500 scholarship deadline is April 1, 2018.  Please visit the link for more information. Annual Scholarship

Applicants should complete a 1,500-2,000 words essay on essay on a skin care topic.  A panel of BeSkinHost's leaders will choose 3 finalists. Finalists will participate in a phone interview.  The top finalist will be awarded the $1,500 scholarship, which can be used for any educational expenses.  Applications will be accepted from April 10, 2017 to November 25, 2017.  For more information, please view the link

PICKHVAC Annual Scholarship

PICKHVAC is opening their annual scholarship program to students who share the same passion as them.  The winner of this scholarship will receive $1,000 to put towards higher education.  The submission deadline is May 30, 2017.  Please view link for more details.

Best Dehumidifiers Scholarship

This $1,500 scholarship is open to all students who are currently enrolled in college, university, or high school.  A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required.  The deadline for this scholarship is December 31, 2017.  For more details, please view the link

Common Knowledge Scholarship Competition

CKSF Scholarship Facts:
  • All U.S. high school, college, and graduate students are eligible (parents can compete, too)
  • Scholarship competitions consist of one or more quizzes with topics ranging from general "common knowledge" to specific academic subjects, books, websites, and even movies
  • Current and upcoming scholarship quizzes will appear in your account once you register
  • Scores are based on a combination of time and accuracy

  • Students with the highest scores at the end of each competition win
  • Award amounts range from $250 to $2,500

This scholarship is an essay contest available to all students.  
Applicants must submit a typed essay (1,000–1,500 words) answering the following questions:
Why do you see drug abuse and addiction as a problem for individuals and society?
What is the best way for society to overcome the issue of drug abuse, and why?
What would an addiction-free world look like, and how would it differ from the world today?
What message do you have for current addicts?
The essay must include the word count and be signed with a full name (both first and last name), along with the applicant’s email address, phone number, and permanent address.
The winning applicants will be determined based on the essay content, style and originality. Judges are looking for logically organized and well-supported essays.

Car Seat Research 2017 Scholarship

Car Seat Research is offering an annual merit-based mid term scholarship to all students.  This scholarship requires either an essay or video submission.  The three winning applicants will receive $3,000, $1,000, and $500 dollars towards their cost of education.Deadline for this application is Novermber 30, 2017.  All of the application details and the 2017 essay questions are available on their website at

The National CPR Association Scholarship

This scholarship program is open to all college students who are currently enrolled in a nationally accredited institution providing medical education.  Simply submit an essay outlining a past experience with lifesaving techniques or how to use these techniques in a future lifesaving situation.  More details are available at Scholarship is an organization that works toward raising awareness of the alcohol abuse and addiction issues and hope to encourage as many people as possible to realize the potential consequences of their drinking habits.  They award $6,000 in scholarships each year to three winners.  The scholarship recipients will be selected through an essay contest, and essays are judged based on their originality and contest. MigVapor Scholarship

This is an essay contest for a $3,000 scholarship being awarded to students who share their vision for the smoke-free world each semester.  It is open to undergraduate and graduate students over the age of 18.  Applicants must be accepted to, or currently enrolled in a college or university located within the United States or in the District of Columbia.  The application deadline for the Fall 2017 semester is May 31, 2017.  You can find more information at the link provided.

Pacific Medical Training Scholarship

Your submission will be a 750 to 1,000 word essay discussing emergency medical care from the perspective of a medical student. Basic life support is a critical skill for all healthcare providers and advanced and pediatric life support are also practiced by certain nurses and physicians depending on where they are working. Please explain how you will prepare mentally and physically before performing life saving techniques on patients in your career. Working as a healthcare provider can be a stressful and rewarding career. And we are looking for your insight and advice for other students entering the field. Parry and Pfau Left-Handed Scholarship

Open to left- or right-handed (or ambidextrous) high school seniors and college or graduate students who live in the United States. Student must enroll in college or graduate school beginning no later than Fall 2017. Winner is not based on financial need, but will be selected by Parry & Pfau’s selection committee based on creativity, humor, and overall quality. Disney College Program

  Disney College Program

The Disney College Program is a 4-6 month internship program located at the Walt Disney World® Resort near Orlando, FL and the Disneyland® Resort in Anaheim, CA. This program has three key components - Living, Learning, and Earning:
  • EARNING: Participants work in front-line roles in our Theme Parks and Resorts, gaining real world experience and exposure to the operations of a Fortune 500 company.
  • LEARNING: Participants take part in college-level coursework and may have the opportunity to earn college credit.

Florida State University Service Scholar Program

The Service Scholar Program is a four-year, comprehensive, co-curricular program. Service Scholars will complete a minimum of 75 service hours per semester (45 hours for first-semester first-year students), participate in individual and group service projects, attend regular meetings, engage in coursework tailored to each year in the program, and promote community participation among their peers. The program includes an annual $2,400 scholarship, which is automatically renewed each year, provided requirements are met.
