Whittel & Melton is once again excited to award scholarships to 3 High School Seniors from Hernando Couny, FL. In April, Whittel & Melton will select 3 High School Seniors from Hernando County, FL, to be awarded a $500 scholarship to help with tuition costs at a 4 year university. If you or someone you know would like to be considered for the $500 scholarship, please follow the instructions below.  Whittel & Melton looks forward to reviewing the submissions and being able to help our Hernando County students achieve their dreams!
 
INSTRUCTIONS:  Applicants are to submit (1) a complete Scholarship Application, (2) 300-500 word essay that answers the question below (3) an official transcript identifying current GPA, (4) proof of acceptance to a 4-year university, and (5) at least one letter of recommendation in support of the application for the scholarship.

Comedy Defensive Driving Scholarship

At Comedy Defensive Driving, they believe that quality education is too expensive for many students and should be obtainable for everyone. So, if you are up for trying something meaningful to help achieve your goal of a quality college education, continue reading.
 
Requirements:
  • Open to students planning on or currently attending an accredited college, university or continuing education program.
  • No GPA Requirement, financial requirement, or any other kind of requirement – Just knowing you are making the effort to get out of bed and do something positive before noon qualifies.
  • Take the pledge to not use your phone while driving, and definitely not to drive while you’re buzzed.. And definitely don’t use your phone if driving (see footnote 2).
  • All forms of ads accepted including: PSA, commercial, music, billboards, media, graphics, etc. MUST BE AN ADVERTISEMENT WITH CLEAR CALL-TO-ACTION.

The Gallery Collection Scholarship

Pursuing a career in art or graphic design? Here is a scholarship for you! The Gallery Collection wishes to award one student a scholarship for designing a new greeting card!
 
Here's How:
1. Submit original photo, artwork or computer graphics for the front of a greeting card.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Scholarship

The VFW is dedicated to promoting patriotism and investing in our future generation. If you are a democracy-loving high school student interested in a $30,000 college scholarship or a patriotic middle school student interested in winning $5,000, these scholarships may be for you. The national first-place winner receives a $30,000 scholarship paid directly to the recipient’s American university, college or vocational/technical school. A complete list of other national scholarships range from $1,000-$16,000, and the first-place winner from each VFW Department (state) wins a minimum scholarship of $1,000 and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C. 
 
HOW TO ENTER:
Download the Voice of Democracy entry form and brochure to submit your essay to your local VFW Post. Students should record their reading of the draft to an audio CD or flash drive. The recording can be no shorter than three minutes and no longer than five minutes (plus or minus five seconds). 
Entries begin at the Post level. Once the student creates their essay and completes burning the audio version to an audio CD/flash drive, they can submit their typed version, CD/flash drive and the Voice of Democracy entry form to their local participating VFW Post by the Oct. 31 deadline. 
 
JUDGING CRITERIA:
Originality is worth 30 points: Treatment of the theme should show imagination and human interest.  Content is worth 35 points: Clearly express your ideas in an organized manner. Fully develop your theme and use transitions to move smoothly from one idea to the other. Delivery is worth 35 points: Speak in a clear and credible manner.

Tree Classics College Scholarship

Tree Classics is proud to offer a $2000 college scholarship grant, in support of students and their families in making their collegiate dreams possible.
Applicant Eligibility Requirements:
  • Open to high school seniors or college students who are legal residents of the United States. Home-schooled students may apply so long as your course of study is equivalent to a high school senior.
  • Students must be enrolled in a school semester beginning no later than Fall 2018.
  • Minors need to obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian to enter.
  • Employees of the Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, and their family members (spouse, parents, children and siblings and their spouses) and individuals living in the same household of such employees are ineligible.
Carefully read all contest rules and scholarship requirements. Any entry that fails to meet scholarship requirements will be rejected from the contest without further student notification.

  • Students must submit one (1) personally written essay on the following topic: How does the digital age (internet and social media) affect how you celebrate traditional holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving?

Projector Lamps Scholarship

The ProjectorLamps.com $1,000.00 Scholarship is available to a student enrolled as a Business major who may one day be an entrepreneur and start their own business.  This is an annual scholarship that will be offered every year.

The Recovery Village Health Care Scholarship

The Recovery Village is dedicated to maintaining exceptional service while providing unique opportunities for education and personal development. As part of this commitment, The Recovery Village is offering a scholarship to students pursuing a medical-related course of study. To enter to win ths scholarship, simply submit a short essay (no more than 500 words) describing why you are passionate about substance use disorder and mental health treatment. Essays can be in the form of a personal narrative with a medical perspective or focus specifically on clinical experience.
In order to be eligible, students must meet the following criteria:

-Enrolled or accepted in an accredited college or university and plan to continue enrollment.

CrazyGames Annual Student Scholarship

Both current students and rising freshmen are eligible for this scholarship. The $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to one student and the money will be transferred to the University of their choice to go towards tuition fees. The winner will be chosen based on their creativity in and commitment to digital media and game development. The choice will be made by a scholarship committee of 2 game publishing experts, and 2 game developers.
To apply:
-Applicants need to submit one piece of work. There are no limits on the form of this work. Examples of work would be a game prototype, an essay related to games, an overview of game development technologies, and so forth. (The work will remain the student's property. CrazyGames will only consider the work for this scholarship, and will not use it for any other purposes. Resume Writing Lab Scholarship

The Resume Writing Lab Scholarship Program belives a career path does not start with a job search. It begins with getting a proper education. In order to encourage student think in advance about their future employment, they will start a scholarship program that could give you a push to becoming a valuable employee!
 
In order to participate, the candidate should meet the requirements listed below:
-It is necessary to be a US citizen who is at least 16 years old.
-Before applying, please make sure you are a full-time college student or accepted for graduate or undergraduate program.
-Any sort of minimum GPA is not required for participation.
-Both domestic and international students may enter the program.
-An article should be an original work of an applying participant and meet the deadline.

Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship

PCA awards scholarships of $1,000-$2,000 (depending on location) to high school athletes based on their responses to questions pertaining to how they meet the standard defined in Elevating Your Game: Becoming a Triple-Impact Competitor by PCA Founder Jim Thompson. 
 
Eligibility extends to any high school junior residing anywhere in the U.S. and playing for a high school team or in club sports! Even though the 2018 application deadline has been met, The 2019 scholarship application will re-open on January 1, 2019 and end May 31, 2019 for juniors graduating in 2020.

  • Any high school Junior (class of 2020) residing in the United States

Denver Recovery Center Scholarship

At Denver Recovery Center, they’re passionate about helping individuals find their voices so they can begin anew with a bright future. The DRC believes that high school and college students play a strong role in creating and maintaining a healthier future. Through your knowledge, they can reduce substance abuse and addiction across the board. If you have a similar vision for the future as they do, they want to hear from you!

DevMountain Scholarship

DevMountain has officially created a scholarship opportunity that can be awarded to anyone looking to further their education.Only one winner will be chosen out of all the applicants per scholarship term. The scholarship winner can use the scholarship toward DevMountain, a four-year degree, online school, trade schools, or any other form of education. If you want to participate, you’ll have to:
